[rng gave me the church and that's a little on the nose but it's also funny so here we are.
which is to say, waner, after finding some actual clothes, is exploring. she makes it into the church to be thorough and is immediately distracted by the stained glass windows depicting axolotls.]
[THE CHURCH IT IS Lucas spends so much time here anyway, my god. Church home. Also she is so cutely dressed... Lucas is also back in his usual clothes, looking right at home in the damn church.
He's peering up at the axolotl windows too, though...]
Mm... Stained glass windows are common in the churches I've visited, but I've never seen them depict creatures like that before. They're quite cute, though, aren't they?
Churches... I can't say I've been to one. [they don't really acknowledge the existence of western anything in canon but hISTORICALLY CHRISTIANITY MADE IT TO CHINA REALLY EARLY ON so i'm choosing to believe she was simply living in an area without many questions.] I've visited temples quite regularly, though. This... feels a little similar, although it looks very different.
Well, I have never seen one, personally, but it is said that temples are where some aspect's of a god's divinity resides on earth, and that is why prayers are best made to them within their halls.
I see... How fascinating. [He glances up toward the axolotl windows...] I wonder what sort of god resides in this one, then, if that's the case at all. The images are quite cute.
Most are rather indifferent, to be honest... But many are benevolent and kind, and willing to reach out to help humans in their worse and most trying of predicaments.
My mother and I have prayed at temples before, and things have seemed to improve afterwards in subtle ways, but... I've never seen a god directly intercede firsthand.
Ah, well, the gods themselves don't exactly have physical manifestations, if that's what you mean... Or rather, as I know them. That may be different for others here. The improvements are still a sign that they exist and are keeping an eye on you, even so.

Temples... I've heard of those before, as well. I believe they're both places of worship, so the similar feeling may come from that?

Do the gods truly inhabit buildings where you hail from?

Ah... I'm very sorry to hear it. Many gods do seem quite surprisingly lax.

[But this is more of a quiet murmur than anything.]
...I do hope that you may have better experiences with gods now that you're here.
