Well, I would worry for the safety of whoever did not receive the vote, regardless. But you are correct that she would likely not have the motive to do it again. Still... say that, next week, we are facing another trial. Only this time, we cannot determine who the culprit was.

Who will be the first person that people who are afraid of voting wrongly will think of? "Should I risk voting for someone who did nothing, or should I vote for someone who confessed to having taken a life last week?"

If we genuinely have no idea who it is... Don't know that it'd be the worst thing to vote for someone we know killed before.

Long as nobody uses that as an excuse to get complacent and not do their damnedest to investigate and get it right. Don't want anyone treatin' her like an easy way out.

I would hope that nobody is foolish enough to get complacent just because of that. The consequences would most certainly come home to roost.

I'd hope not too. [ ... ] Sort of doubt we'd have to worry about that with this lot, at least. Weren't a bad thing that almost everyone felt so conflicted about the choice today.
