[there are SO MANY SKELETONS in whoville this time of night.
waner, who did not know nearly enough about holidays in other worlds to expect this, is cautiously picking her way back toward the train station and casting wary gazes at them, because, um, yikes? ...although she does stop at the one wearing the "ask me about my trick or treat candy shirt, furrowing her brows in confusion.]
What is trick or treat c— [at the words "trick or treat," it moves just enough to hold out some candy to her. she shrieks and leaps back.] —eeeek!
Sometimes there are no right choices. [she sighs, coming to a stop near where he's leaning against the wall. she was out for a walk to clear her heard.] All you can do is pick the one that feels less wrong, but even then...
Ended up basin' it entirely on who I thought would pose more of a danger from here out, honestly.
Didn't seem like there was any reliable way to reverse what was goin' on with Hawke. Firefly...
[ frowns. ]
Whether her story was a lie or not, it seems she was in her right mind either way, and she wouldn't have a motive to do it a second time now that she's gettin' her prize. ...Regardless of how anyone feels about that.
Well, I would worry for the safety of whoever did not receive the vote, regardless. But you are correct that she would likely not have the motive to do it again. Still... say that, next week, we are facing another trial. Only this time, we cannot determine who the culprit was.
Who will be the first person that people who are afraid of voting wrongly will think of? "Should I risk voting for someone who did nothing, or should I vote for someone who confessed to having taken a life last week?"
If we genuinely have no idea who it is... Don't know that it'd be the worst thing to vote for someone we know killed before.
[ like, honestly, what's the alternative in that situation? ]
Long as nobody uses that as an excuse to get complacent and not do their damnedest to investigate and get it right. Don't want anyone treatin' her like an easy way out.
I'd hope not too. [ ... ] Sort of doubt we'd have to worry about that with this lot, at least. Weren't a bad thing that almost everyone felt so conflicted about the choice today.
[ i'm forcing everyone who hasn't experienced the tavern yet to do so, so that is where we are, whether she actually came for food or just wandered in out of curiosity to see the changes. ]
Hey. [ gives her a little smile. ] How is it, bein' back here after so long?
[ and it's probably a lot weirder for people who actually went through changes in their rooming situations... he's just been sleeping on a beanbag in his brother's room all game. ]
Been lookin' forward to showing this place to everyone who hasn't seen it since it was just the bar.
Too right. [ everyone is SO lucky to have him!! ] He takes requests too, so if there's anything you're wanting from back home, if you can give him a recipe, he'll try it out for you.
...Of course, at this point, I guess most of us will be going back to our own worlds' food before long anyway.
[on the one hand it would be nice to have some food that reminds her of home! on the other she will (in theory) be home at a week unless god decides she's unworthy of redemption and sends her to hell.]
...but yes, that is what is meant to happen. What will you do first, once you're back?
Should be able to adjust the timing, at least? So maybe go back a day and thwart the murder plan? That's pretty much what we're doin', anyway. Goin' back to the night before I died and takin' advantage of what we know to get the element of surprise on our side this time.
I fell ill after a large meal. There were all sorts of dishes... I was the only one who was poisoned, but all of the dishes I ate were the same dishes others ate. I'm not certain how they did it.
That would buy me one day's worth of time. But if they tried again after it didn't succeed... I wouldn't know what to watch out for after that night.
[so! she has no idea what she's going to do. shit she did not think about during the last eight weeks because she lowkey thought she would fail redemption and just go to hell tbh.]
[bro i died in w2 after not leaving the office until 9pm on average for most nights leading up to that you were not the flaky mess here. but agreed that is what craus and glocksuke and psls are for.]
Mm, I'm going to be talking it over with her. It's just a little more complicated because I only know what my symptoms were, and plenty of poisons could cause those symptoms...
Least she can probably narrow it down some based on what you describe. Worth checkin' the hospital too, they had some sort of anti-venom medicine there. Might have things for other types of poison too.
We've been workshopping our plan for the last week and a half, so. Think we're pretty much set at this point, just a matter of actually pulling it off.

[ he has no idea what's happening, so he just tries to get her behind him in case there's an actual threat here. which there... doesn't seem to be...?
turns to glance back at her ]
You all right? What happened?

though she does lean to one side to peer around him...]
That skeleton... it moved by itself.
no subject
[ stares at the skeleton for several seconds... but since no one is asking it about trick or treating, it does nothing.
... ]
You sure it wasn't just the breeze or somethin' makin' it move? Undead monsters don't usually stop once you've got their attention.
[ also, like. it looks fake as hell. ]

[the skeleton moves again. she gasps and points at it.]/small>
It did that!

...a little odd, if I'm being honest. I imagine it must be a little odd for all of you to have so many of us around again, too.
